A bit about me. I am a NICU travel RN who was raised in small town Iowa. I’ve always had an affinity for travel. Anyone who knows me will tell you they knew I would never stay in Iowa for long after graduating college. I’ve traveled to 19 countries so far, although that is always changing, and I try not to country count just to count! I have also been to about 40 of the 50 United States. I’m looking forward to sharing all of my past, present, and future travels with you!
I started The Traveling Sopha as a way to keep track of my travels. I have the worst memory, and have used apps to write about some of my past experiences. So starting this blog was sort of a no brainer. Now everything is all in one place, plus I can share my stories, experiences, and favorite things with anyone who might want to read this blog.

A lot of my travels and experiences will revolve around my job, wherever it may take me. Work often times leads to road-tripping, which I love and have grown up doing with my family. I tend to work out time off during my 13 week contracts, because I like to take advantage of the freedoms I get as a travel nurse. But especially between contracts, I typically will take a month or so off to travel outside of the US.
I’ve also started guest writing about travel nursing for The Gypsy Nurse, so be sure to check out those articles if that’s something you’re interested in.
